Section 504 Plans v IEPs: Differences and Distinctions

Is your school district preparing to exit your child from special education services and implement a Section 504 Plan? What types of services and supports may your child receive with a 504 Plan? What are the legal protections accompanying a 504 Plan? How can a 504 Plan accompany your child beyond high school?

Amy Vatner, an attorney with the Alfano Education Law Group, will help you understand the significant differences between an IEP and a 504 Plan for your child. Attorney Vatner worked as a special education attorney for Connecticut Legal Services, Inc. and advocated for children with disabilities for the Connecticut Association of Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities (CACLD), African Caribbean American Parents of Children with Disabilities, and the CT Parent Advocacy Center (CPAC).
